Agricultural Studies

A unique feature of East Loddon P12 College is that we are a school literally built in the middle of a paddock. Being 9 kms. from the nearest town, we are a genuine example of a rural school.

As such we place a strong emphasis on agriculture based learning across the school. We have a specific garden for the Primary students and facilitate several agriculture focussed subjects in the senior school. 

Students get a unique opportunity to learn across a range of agriculture disciplines including exposure to cereal crops, dairy industry, fruit, vegetables and animal husbandry.  

iFarm

In mid 2023 we took delivery of our new "iFarm" simply put it is a 'self contained vertical farm' roughly the size of a small shipping container.  It has the capability to be self- sustaining and a range of data is available to assist with growing crops.

Students have started testing this exciting resource out and some interesting results have been obtained.
