Some of our Year 10 and Year 11 students toured around the Fosterville Gold Mine. Students learnt about the range of jobs from Human Resource Management to Mechanics to Bogger Drivers to Geologists and Electricians.

The land cruisers only last about three years before they rust out from the bottom up due to their work underground in the mines.

The mine employs over 800 people and they are projecting 1,000 employees in the future.

They value willingness to learn and hard work over qualifications, instead they’re keen to train new staff on the job.

The length of the underground mines is over 150km.
