Bendigo
Year 10 and Year 11 students travelled to Bendigo to visit La Trobe University. Students divided into two groups exploring the uni in different ways from a brief race around La Trobe (which Abby T and Ruby C won) and a presentation about university in general, plus the great programs La Trobe offer such as, Aspire for students keen to receive an offer ahead of ATAR results. Students then participated in an Engineering challenge, building a bridge to carry a table tennis ball for the longest length of time. Winners of this competition were Jake, Alex, Oscar and Archer. After our activities we headed to the Uni café where we bumped into former College Dux, Ava, who was taking a break from her studies, but loving it (which was so lovely to hear). Next stop Tomorrow Bound Careers Expo (students travel from as far as Swan Hill, Shepparton and more to visit this expo). Students visited a range of stalls and recognised some of the stall holders from visiting our school (eg. Haylee from Headspace and James from Agnico Eagle). Students managed to receive a whole range of stationary, hat and other souvenirs. Plus some genuine information about universities, TAFE and other job opportunities.
